What is New Life Kitchen?

We are knowledgeable advisers who provide ongoing support, empowerment, accountability and inspiration to help you make sustainable changes that improve your health so you can design your second act.

What do you mean by “second act”?

A second act is part two of your life. In our twenties and thirties we are busy building our lives. We work on our careers, we possibly raise families. Mid-life is when you take stock of where you’ve been and where you want to go. Your second act is a time to work on goals and dreams that have been put on the back-burner while you were busy building your life as a couple/family.

Who are your ideal clients?

Cindy works with women in their 40’s and 50’s who want to take control of their health, weight, and menopausal symptoms so that they can design and live their best life.

Jeff and Cindy work with couples who want support in improving their health, to grow closer and redefine their lives with inspiration for the future.

What qualifications do you have?

Cindy Berkowitz – through the many roles in her life (wife, mother, manager, genealogist, and paralegal) she realized that food holds critical sway in how we tackle each day. After studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, primarily as a means of self discovery, Cindy realized that there is so much more to the “you are what you eat” theory of diet and nutrition and that most people need help to find the perfect combination of diet and lifestyle for optimal health. Cindy’s transformation showed her the way to remake her life and helping others do the same has become her new life’s mission.

Jeff Berkowitz – Jeff has been an Executive Chef for 25 years with experience in restaurants, country clubs and food manufacturing. After studying nutrition at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York, Jeff uses his knowledge of food to improve the health of his clients as a Certified Health Coach. Always curious about the world of food, Jeff develops unique recipes for his clients that mirror their favorite foods, cuisines, cooking style, time constraints and health goals so that each client comes away with a personal repertoire of foods to carry them through the rest of their lives.

At the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, we studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. Our teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities. Our education has equipped us with extensive knowledge in recipe creation, holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health.

Together, Cindy and Jeff, combine their talents to offer support, empowerment, accountability, and inspiration for designing your second act with healthy lifestyle choices enabling you to live a truly passionate life.
